HILS Controllers Lab

LATOM’s Hardware-in-the-Loop Simulation (HILS) Controllers Lab is a room where we execute controller related research in HILS manner. Signal controllers from major vendors are connected, either through Controller Interface Device (CID) or through a relevant software with microsimulation models (mainly Vissim). This enables our researchers to test operations of real controllers in field-like scenarios where traffic can be simulated in controlled way and with the highest possible accuracy. Our lab is currently equipped with six state-of-the-art controllers capable of high-resolution data logging and several Peek 3000E controllers donated by FDOT D4.
